Mission No. 1 should you choose to accept it: Leave five hand-crafted letters in public places for five different strangers to find.
Mission No. 2: Don’t get caught.
I choose to accept this mission.
Letter Drop No. 1 Location Target Acquired: The Bank Lobby
I needed a location with foot traffic, emotional tension, and just enough anonymity to slip in and out unnoticed. This beautiful, massive bank lobby fit the bill—neutral territory, high stakes, and plenty of tables near the coffee shop located inside. I scoped it out for weeks, noting security cameras, guard rotations, and the rhythm of customer flow.

The Payload
One envelope. Hand-lettered on homemade tea-stained paper to create an antique look. Sealed with a wax stamp and a whisper of mystery. Inside: a letter for a stranger. Opening line: “Greetings. Although we’ve never met, you are special. Allow me to explain…”
Written with warmth and enough ambiguity to spark curiosity. Signed: “Sincerely, T”. No instructions. No fanfare. Just a quiet invitation to feel seen.

The Drop
Friday morning. 6:30 a.m. Sunglasses on. Envelope tucked inside my briefcase. I enter the bank lobby with the casual confidence of someone who definitely has an account there. I stall near one of the tables by the coffee shop where baristas are quietly starting their day. I wait for the security camera to turn away.
Then—the move.
I open my briefcase. Extract the Scotch tape. I adhere the letter to the side of the table. No flourishes. No hesitation. Just one clean motion. Smooth operator. That’s me.
The Exit
I turn. Walk out. Don’t look back.
Mission complete.
The Debrief
No one chased me. No alarms sounded. But somewhere in that bank, someone might be holding a letter they didn’t expect. Maybe they’ll read it. Maybe they’ll smile. Maybe they’ll leave one of their own someday.
First drop completed. There will be more.
Stay tuned, operatives. The kindness network is expanding.
