My sweet cat passed away a few weeks ago. She loved to snuggle when I sat on my bed. She would always awaken from her nap to greet me when I entered the room. She was my dear friend for the last half of her life, from age 9 to 18. I even wrote a Sincerely, T letter about her! Ironically, I dropped this special letter in a public place shortly before her passing, when she still seemed perfectly healthy.
I knew this letter belonged in a grocery store, with the boxes of Cheerios. I can’t explain why. Maybe because Cheerios bring back happy childhood memories?

This was the easiest letter drop I’ve completed thus far. I went to the grocery store early Sunday morning, before the rush of shoppers. Before entering, I imagined this special cat-themed letter finding the purrfect person. I said a little wish to the universe that this letter might bring the recipient some joy and a flutter of whimsy. Then I walked in, found the Cheerios, placed the letter and walked out. It was very uneventful!

Most of my letters are words of encouragement during these strange times. But this letter was about a simple moment I shared with my cat. Her head on my leg while the sun streamed in through the window and a cool breeze tickled my bare feet. The letter was a ode to an ordinary moment, a moment I now miss so much because I will never experience it again. I encourage the reader to consider their own ordinary moment. It is actually quite special if only you take a second to notice.
